I’ve tried all the YMCA locations in the area and the mill creek YMCA is truly unmatched. The woman in the kids zone for younger kids always remembers mine and my daughters names and treats my daughter so well. I’d name her but I’m really bad with names 😂. Today we tried the pool and the life guards that run the pool are two very nice men who were nothing but helpful and promoted actual safety. We used to swim at the Marysville location, but (and I have the utmost respect for women’s bodies, but in a place specifically for children this was very inappropriate) the life guards had their entire butts exposed (almost to their private areas), flirted with dads, played inappropriate music, were running full speed around the pool, and some of them were even stuck up and rude to the moms. They were very clicky and it was just an uncomfortable environment overall. We stopped swimming for months because of that. Now that I know the environment is a complete 180 at Mill Creek, we’ll be swimming there more often. It’s important to be appropriate in developing children’s environments. I’m glad that Mill Creek can uphold the proper standards and make things more comfortable for parents that are

Staff turned lights off in pool locker room to terrorize families into leaving. There were 2 women and 4 kids in their trying to get dressed to leave after family swim ended. I had to go out to the hall in a towel to yell for the lights back on. As we were leaving at 9:05 a male staff said they close at 9pm. I told him it is irresponsible and unsafe to turn lights off when people, especially kids are in the locker room. What happens when someone can't see, trips or slips, and hit their head on one of the benches. He smirked at me and said "then that's the way it is". These are the YMCAs that need to be closed down. Poor management, purposely understaffed, horrible customer service, and broken equipment to boot.

Mill Creek Family YMCA has been such a meaningful part of our family’s life, especially when it came to our kids learning how to swim there. It’s one of those places that really supports families in a simple, consistent way. The swim programs were excellent — supportive instructors who were patient and made sure the kids felt comfortable and confident in the water. It was great watching them progress step by step from beginners to strong swimmers. Overall, it’s a welcoming community space with a friendly environment and a strong focus on kids and families. We’re genuinely grateful for the time we spent there and the memories built in those pools.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the YMCA's services, particularly regarding the pool schedule. I joined specifically for access to the lap lanes, and it is incredibly frustrating to arrive and find them occupied by private classes — despite the posted schedule indicating open swim availability. This is not an isolated inconvenience; it is a pattern of unreliable service and a failure to communicate schedule changes to members. I rely on the published schedule to plan my time, and repeatedly discovering last-minute changes upon arrival is unacceptable. There has been no notification, no advance warning — simply broken promises. I joined the YMCA in good faith, expecting the services advertised. What I have experienced instead is a consistent lack of transparency and accountability. I sincerely hope this matter is taken seriously and that immediate steps are taken to ensure the schedule is accurate, changes are communicated proactively, and members are treated with the respect they deserve.

I’ve been coming to this location for a couple of years now and I love it. Always a great work out. The fitness equipment is great and in good condition and the group fitness classes are so fun! The instructors are always high energy and make each class so fun. I really enjoy working out here. The front desk folks are always friendly, and I have to bug them a lot with my nationwide membership.
